We're London Titans FC, providing football for LGBTIQ+ people of all abilities in west and south-west London. Our home matches are played in Barnes/Chiswick, and we train in White City (winter) and Richmond (summer).
What is the goal / dream for your club?
"Not to exist. Ideally, LGBTIQ+ people would feel comfortable and encouraged to play in the mainstream without exception. However, while abuse and the possibility of abuse exists, so shall we."
It is pride month so we want to know what you are most proud of about your club?
"We're proud to remove as many of barriers as possible - whether they're based on experience, ability or cost - so that more LGBTIQ+ people can enjoy playing football."
What makes a good teammate for your club?
"Someone who puts as much effort in on the pitch as they do while socialising with other members."
Why do you think it is important for there to be LGBTIQ+ specific sports clubs/groups?
"People often join with little experience as they'd been put off the idea of playing football earlier on in life - clubs like ours help them discover what they've been missing out on, with the associated fitness and social benefits that go along with it."
Do you have an LGBTIQ+ sporting hero?
"Every single person - LGBTIQ+ or ally - who raises their head above the parapet and helps to make things better"
How do you think sport can benefit the LGBTIQ+ community?
"For the participants, it provides fitness and social benefits that they may otherwise miss out on, and our existence goes some way to countering outdated and potentially harmful stereotypes that exist about our community."
